The Circle of Hope
...an ezine connecting Shannon with friends & fans through Key to Life's messages & music of hope!
It's 2008! Exciting! I hope you have all been well and busy fulfilling your dreams and goals since we last touched base this past summer. I know I have been! So, in the interests of starting off the New Year on the right foot, I wanted to share some of my dreams for Key to Life with you, and invite you to share your dreams with me too!
P.S. I will be touring extensively this Spring. I would love to see you at upcoming events!
Warmly and with HOPE,

I Have A Dream of a World FREE from Eating Disorders. Please take a moment to SIGN the 'I Have A Dream' Petition asking for greater Mental Health Parity for the treatment of eating disorders. 11 million individuals and countless family members in the USA (and over 70 million worldwide) are closely watching the ongoing Congressional Hearings for Mental Health Parity for signs of HOPE. Use your powerful voice to be one of the first to weigh in on this critically important issue!
SIGN the 'I Have A Dream' Petition! And be sure to share YOUR DREAM with us!
I Have A Dream That No One in Recovery Ever Feels All Alone. I am currently in the final stages of completing a collaborative project with Canadian author Andrea Roe. The project offers hope, through an anthology of survivors' words and original music, to victims of eating disorders and their loved ones. While song and story submissions are now closed, we do welcome your SUPPORT for this wonderful anthology, which is called You Are Not Alone: the book & companion CD for women struggling with eating disorders.
I Have A Dream That This Is The Year I Will Finally FINISH MY BOOK! Hey, anything worth doing's worth doing well, right? However, that rationale sounded slightly more plausible this time last year! I really am in the final stages of selecting the Q&A letters and crafting the book's structure. I have a wonderful mentoring editor who is helping me through the process (thank you!) As of today, the book will be titled Letters to a Young Anorexic: recovering the lost art of mentoring in the age of eating disorders. And suffice it to say I am looking forward to its release as much as you are! :)
I Have A Dream That Every Victim Finds At Least ONE Supportive Community To Belong To.
Through the many letters I receive each month, I am aware that not every community offers a support group for victims of eating disorders and their families. This is why I moderate two online support communities through Key to Life, and offer other opportunities for online connection as well. Please take advantage of as many as you need in order to stay connected to others like you who are committed to a full recovery!
The Key to Life MySpace Group, is free to join.
