Advice About Helping A Friend Hi Shannon -
I struggled with a eating disorder for years. Now I only struggle with a few pounds, and with loving sweets. However, someone I love is struggling desperately with an eating disorder, which is ruining her health. Please let me know of your next appearance in the Phoenix Valley. Also, have you written a book? Where is your music available? Thank you.

Hi - thanks for writing! You may find my CD "Modern Day Eve" on my website in the Store . If your friend needs a CD for inspiration and does not have the money, I would be happy to gift a copy to you and to your friend if you will send me the address to ship it to. I have not yet scheduled a return visit to Arizona but I will of course let you know when that happens.
In the meantime, please invite your friend to visit the Good News page and if she has questions she can email me there. I would be honored to talk with her and encourage her in any way I can, and give her some suggestions for resources close to her to help her heal.
Please do understand this in the meantime, however...and you know this yourself from your own struggles with an eating disorder - you cannot do the work of healing for someone else. We each have to do our own hard work to heal. It is the hardest thing you will ever have to do to stand by and allow someone else make a decision that only they can make - a decision that will only be worth something to them if they have to walk through the fire of their own free choice to make it - and that decision is to choose life.
You and your friend will be in my prayers, and I am grateful you chose life and healing and are now in a position to help your friend choose the same. You may be her most valuable resource - just continue to provide her with encouragement and reminders of why choosing life is worth it. Let me know how I can help.
Blessings,
Shannon
